Program Description & Who May Enroll

The Recruitment NYC Behavior Technician (RBT) Training is a six (6) day, 46.5-hour in-person program, taught in English and Spanish. On five (5) class days, the student completes the online 40-hour RBT training in class — designed to meet the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB®) 2026 training eligibility requirement for RBT certification. One (1) class day is a safety day. The online 40-hour training is provided by our partner training provider and is offered independent of the BACB.

Tuition includes the student’s seat in the online 40-hour training. In class, each student works through the online modules on their own login while the instructor teaches each module in English or Spanish and practices the skills with the students. The online platform records time spent in the modules; group review time does not count toward the 40 hours, so some students may finish part of a module at home. As required by the BACB, the online training must be completed in no fewer than five (5) days and no more than one hundred eighty (180) days.

Who may enroll: adults 18 or older who can read basic English — the online training is in English, and class instruction is in English and Spanish. Experience is not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required to enroll. Important: the BACB requires a high school diploma or equivalent to apply for RBT certification, so a student without one can complete this training but cannot become certified until they earn it.

Important Disclosures

This program does not make the student a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT®). To earn the RBT credential, the student must also, after completing the 40-hour training, pass the RBT Initial Competency Assessment with a qualified supervisor, complete a criminal background check and abuse registry check, apply to the BACB, and pass the RBT examination. These steps are separate from this program. Recruitment NYC does not guarantee that the student will pass the examination, obtain the credential, or obtain employment.

The online 40-hour training is designed to meet the 2026 training eligibility requirement for RBT certification and is offered independent of the BACB. Recruitment NYC is not affiliated with the BACB. RBT® and BACB® are registered trademarks of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board®, Inc.

An official CPR credential (CPR card), where offered, is issued only by an authorized certifying body (such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross) through a certified instructor.
